Ivan StojicHi!

My name is Ivan Stojic. I was born 26 years ago in Zagreb, Croatia. Since I was 15 I worked within the IT industry in one way or the other. It started with simple system administration and soon moved on to web programming just at the time XML was starting to blossom. Later the topic that interested me most was wireless communication. I’ve done a lot of work in that field.

Notable work experience

September 2007 - ?
My next (scheduled) work will be for a company in the banking industry. I’m not at liberty to disclose any other information, but I can say that I’ll be heading back towards a more hands-on approach and that we will be using interesting pieces of cutting edge Java technology.

May 2005 - August 2007
I was by Siemens Croatia as an integration specialist. The company mostly does software services (architecture, planning) as well as development itself. My work is practical: I travel a lot and work with clients on system specifications and the implementation in the later phases. The last six months of my engagement in Siemens were spent implementing a complicated multi-tier integration project for Clarify CRM.

January 2004 - March 2005
I was employed by NTH, a Swiss company providing value-added services to cell-phone network operators and third parties alike. The position I held was that of a Senior Java Developer. The job required me to design and plan development, as well as lead Junior Developers and cooperate with other Senior Developers on large projects. I used my extensive knowledge of communication protocols used in cell phone networks. (eg. SMPP, EMI/UCP and MM7)

August 2003 - December 2003
The job I held at Tramot, a small development house was that of a Java Developer. I have worked extensively with Object-Relational persistence engines (eg. Hibernate) and Java based embeddable database systems. I also expanded my knowledge of AWT, SWT and Swing.

Technical proficiencies

Java software development (J2SE, J2EE, J2ME) and extensive knowledge of third party software: eg. Hibernate, Derby, ANTLR, Orion, Struts, etc…

Integration tools and platforms: TIBCO, Oracle Workflow, Seebeyond, BizTalk.

Various programming languages and technologies: XML/XPath/XSLT, Relax NG, PL/SQL, Ruby, Perl, Prolog, etc…

Personal goals

To find a job which motivates me with it’s complexity and rewards and allows me to grow. I try to seek company of those better than me because that is the only way to grow from daily.
